I'm Dean Irvin, Bodie Bowl Event Director, is an avid mountain biker and fly fisherman. He spends many hours a week mountain biking and has explored many trails in and around Folsom, CA, Lake Tahoe, and the Eastern Sierras including the Sweetwater region in NV. In 2009, Dean was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colorectal Cancer and spent a year in treatment for the cancer including radiation, surgery and chemotherapy. The cancer only slowed him down temporarily and in 2011 he competed in his first 100 mile mountain bike race, the High Cascades 100. The picture on the left is of him at the finish line exhausted and feeling thankful that he was cancer-free and in pretty good shape. After visiting the town of Bodie this past summer, he began the work on getting Bodie Bowl 2015 organized and is excited to share this opportunity with fellow mountain bikers.
